As of 2020, only one volume of the Victoria History of the County of Lincoln has been published: volume 2 (1906). Volumes 1 and 3 to 5 were envisaged and some preparatory work was undertaken by William Page and W. O. Massingberd, but none were completed before Massingberd's death in 1910; the county project became moribund in the 1910s and no new work has been planned since then. The chapters on religious houses have been transcribed by the Institute of Historical Research and are freely available at British History Online.
