The Georgette sprung a leak on Friday night off Margaret River, 15 miles from land; one boat, full of passengers, capsized on leaving the vessel. Several were picked up by a second boat which landed them safely far up the coast.
The Georgette beached on a sandy shore eight miles south of Margaret, and landed all remaining on board safely.
Three women and five children are missing, and supposed to have been drowned by the upsetting of the boat; names unknown as yet.
