Commanded Res. Bn. and Regt. of Irish Guards, 1916 and 1917. Employed on Munitions Inventions Dept., 1915 and 1916; commanded 4th Guards Brigade, France, 1918 wounded (gassed). Base Commandant at Etaples, 1918 to 1919. Mentioned twice in despatches. Retired with hon. rank of Brig.-General, 1919; m. 1908, Lady Aileen Wyndham Quin, only surviving dau, of Thomas Wyndham, 4th Earl of Dunraven, K.P., and has issue-Marueen Margaret, 1909; Anthony Wyndham, 1911; Meriet Aileen, 1913.
