Rifles Militia, 4th Batt. 1899; Special Reserve, 3rd Batt. 1908; rejoined army, 1914; Brigade Major of 7th Reserve Brigade, 1915; proceeded to France, 1916; appointed to Staff of G.H.Q. as D.A.A.G., Nov., 1916; eldest surviving son of late Col.
