Unperishable Love.
Whilst sighing at your feet I lye,Pale and expiring gasp for breath,Can you relentlesse see me dye,And glory in your martyr's death?Ah would the torments I sustaineRaise but compassion in your breast,One pitying look would ease my paine,And give my soule eternall rest.
Tho you command mee not to live,Which I with pleasure must obey,My love will after death survive,Which Fate or Time can n'ere decay. And since all hopes of you are lost,And joy with life must disappear,When I'm converted to a ghostI'le bee your guardian angell here.
