Gazing from Donggao[1] as twilight falls, I wandered and leaned, but where could I stay?

Every tree is tinged with autumn hue, with every hill bathed in the sunset rays.

A herdsman drove his calves back, and a hunter on a horse went home with his prey.

Not acquainted with faces I met, I chanted a song for those who gathered ferns, hiding away[2].
