At my Moscow home how the domes do shine!
At my Moscow home how the bells do chime!
And behold, in rows every tomb and shrine
Where the ladies sleep, and the lords

Little knowest thou that the Kremlin air
Is of all the world’s marvellously fair!
Little knowest thou that my morning prayer
Reaches out to thee, ere it dawns

And thou passest nigh quays of thy Neva
As I stand, head bent, over the Moskva
And the evening lamps, overlooking, are
Winking sleepily at the floats

And I love thee for all my sleepless nights
And I heed thee for all my waking eyes
As I stand here, lorn, near the Kremlin dikes
To the morning bells calling oft …

But as rivers two will not ever meet
So the hands of you mine will never greet
We are sundered like as two dawns, my Sweet
Lest they ever both be aloft
