[edit]For You shall bless the righteous; God, as with a shield, [with] favor You shall encompass him.

Which surrounds the three sides of a person.
Favor
Pleasure; apimat in the foreign language.
You shall encompass him
You shall surround him; like (1 Samuel 23:26): and Saul and his men compass David and his men.
Ibn Ezra

This verse is connected to the previous one; that those that love Your name shall exult in You when they see that you will banish the wicked and bless the righteous.
There are those who say: You shall encompass him – from the light construction; like (1 Samuel 23:26): compass David. And the correct [explanation]: that it's from the additional construction like (1 Samuel 17:25)...
