Translation:Mishnah/Seder Moed/Tractate Rosh Hashanah/Introduction

This tractate covers two major topics: (1) the different new years in the Jewish calendar, and (2) the shofar. The High Holy Day on 1 Tishri is discussed, but only briefly.

It does not cover these topics in complete detail, and other topics are discussed. Excluding the discussion of the shofar, there are only a few passages discussing Rosh HaShanah itself. However, these passages cover important subjects in Rabbinical theology, including redemption, the afterlife, and eschatology.

While discussing the New Year for trees, this tractate covers some topics in the kashrut of produce.
