Literal English Translation Original Latin Line

Ego nōlō Flōrus esse,
ambulāre per tabernās,
latitāre per popīnās,
culicēs patī rotundōs.

I don't want to be Florus,
walk by the taverns,
lurk by the eating-house,
endure round gnats.
