on Appointment of the Prime Minister

Bhumibol Adulyadej, Rex.
His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej is graciously pleased to proclaim that:
Whereas the Ministership of Samak Sundaravej has individually been terminated by operation of section 182, paragraph 1 (7), of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand, Buddhist Era 2550 (2007), and the President of the House of Representatives made submission to His Majesty that, this September 17, 2551 (2008), the House of Representatives, by the votes of more than one half of the total number of its existing Members, has resolved to appoint Somchai Wongsawat Prime Minister;
And Whereas His Majesty entertains an opinion that he has confidence in Somchai Wongsawat to the extent he may hold the office of the Prime Minister;
Be it commanded by the King’s most Excellent Majesty, in virtue of section 171 of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand, that Somchai Wongsawat is hereby appointed Prime Minister to take charge of the public administration henceforth.
Done this 18th Day of September, Buddhist Era 2551 (2008); Being the 63th Year of the present Reign.
