Royal Decree
Establishing Umphang District,
2502 BE

Bhumibol Adulyadej R
Given on the 21st day of April 2502 BE
Being the 14th year of the present reign

Phra Bat Somdet Phra Paramin Maha Bhumibol Adulyadej gives a great royal command by which He orders with His pleasure that it be announced as follows:

Whereas it is appropriate to establish an additional district in the area of Tak province for the sake of the administration and the convenience of people;

Therefore, by virtue of the power under the stipulations of section 39 of the Act on Rules for Public Administration of the State, 2495 BE, He orders with His gracious pleasure that the following Royal Decree be enacted:

Section1.This Royal Decree is called the "Royal Decree Establishing Umphang District, 2502 BE".

Section2.This Royal Decree shall come into force from the day following the day of its publication in the Royal Gazette onwards.

Section3.Umphang minor district, Mae Sot district, Tak province, shall be elevated to[1] Umphang district.

Section4.Umphang district shall be subject to the administration of Tak province.

Section5.The Minister of Interior shall be in charge of the execution of this Royal Decree.

Countersignatory:
General T. Kittikachorn
Deputy Prime Minister

Note: The grounds for promulgation of this Royal Decree are as follows: Whereas Umphang minor district, Mae Sot district, Tak province, encompasses a vast and arid area located greatly far away from Mae Sot district, Tak province, causing difficulties every time a contact has to be made with the district or[2] province due to the necessity to travel through forests and mountains, and sometimes requiring passage through the Burmese territory for facility, which is likely to result in unsafety, it is appropriate to elevate the said minor district to a district, for the sake of the administration and the provision of convenience to local inhabitants, as well as for the promotion of local development.
