מאד היה קשה לי לרדת אליך
It was so hard for me to come down to you,
תלמידי היקר להגיד לך כי נהנתי
my dear student, to tell you, I enjoyed so much
מאד מעבודתך ועליך אמרתי
from your hard devotion. Regarding you I said
מיין פייעריל וועט טליען ביז
"My fire will be blazing^[1] until
משיח וועט קומען חזק ואמץ
Messiah comes." Just be strong and courageous
בעבודתך
in your religiousity,
נַ נַחְ נַחְמָ נַחְמָן מאומן
Na Nach Nachma Nachman Me'Uman
ובזה אגלה לך סוד והוא
And here I reveal to you the secret of it is this:
מלא וגדיש מקו לקו (פצפציה)
Stacks and heaps [of books](seven dots underneath)^[2] from precious line to precious line^[3]. (Pei, Tzaddi, Pei, Tzaddi, Yud, Hei)^[4]
ובחזוק עבודה תבינהו וסמן
By being very religious you will understand it. And the sign is --
יז בתמוז יאמרו שאינך מתענה
The 17th of Tammuz they'll say you're not fasting.
