Translation talk:Catullus 64/Lines 50-253
Add topicThis is a horrible translation. It casts itself as a literal translation, but occasionally skips entire lines. Not to mention its ridiculous choices of vocabulary.—unsigned comment by 74.215.10.217 (talk) 04:14, 5 March 2008.
I agree. This translation is horrendous. It is not at all literal, but very loose. I would not recommend its use if you are trying to comprehend this poem literally, or if you are completing a translation of the poem as an assignment. Consult other sources until this interesting but hardly literal translation is improved upon.—unsigned comment by 99.164.70.31 (talk) 13:20, 10 April 2008.

I wish someone would put a literal transation on here rather than complaining about this...
