General edits

[edit]

I have added chapters 1 through to 4 and expanded chapter headings. Versification not done. Spelling may be British in places (as per my spell check). I have transliterated the "f" sound in names as "f" as opposed to the more traditional "ph." --202.154.147.178 17:55, 12 July 2008

Thanks a lot! Would it be possible to add the sources too?--Jdavid2008 13:03, 13 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Formatting

[edit]

Ezra and Nehemiah have several lists. Is there to be a list format as opposed to a prose or poetry format? --202.154.147.178 17:58, 12 July 2008

What you've done seems good--if we have a special format later it shouldn't be too hard to fix ;)--Jdavid2008 13:03, 13 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sources, 7:1-11, 8

[edit]

For 7:1-11, I've translated from the Masoretic text, drawing freely from the King James Version and Gesenius whenever it seemed useful. Alephb (talk) 00:42, 30 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

I've done the same for chapter 8, with occasional reference to Batten's commentary on Ezra, and tot he public domain commentaries on Biblehub.com. Alephb (talk) 01:55, 30 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Sources, the rest of Chapter 7

[edit]

Done from the Clementine Vulgate, consulting the Wycliffe translation. JustinCB (talk) 20:50, 15 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Sources, 5-6:18

[edit]

This section will be translated from the Masoretic Text, freely using wording and ideas from the KJV, ASV, Gesenius, and Brown-Driver-Briggs as seems appropriate, as well as Batten's commentary in the International Critical Commentary series (1913). Any other sources used will be footnoted at the appropriate place. Alephb (talk) 02:56, 20 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
