There is an implication that the whole time, even before the skin peeled off, the promise of the Tzadik had been fulfilled entirely, except it was not seen. However there is room to assert that only after the skin peeled away, and the prince remained just out of precious stones, were the prayers of the Tzadik answered in their entirety.
