Beginning at a point on US Route 1 north of Damariscotta, thence southerly and westerly over former US Route 1 through Damariscotta, thence westerly and southerly through Newcastle an former US Route 1 to the junction with present US 1 in the south edge of Newcastle (for a short distance on the south end of this route in the Newcastle area south bound and north bound traffic will be marked on separate streets).
