NUMBER 53

KOREAN ECONOMIC ADVISORY BOARD

    SECTION Ⅰ. Purpose. The purpose this ordinance is to provide a representative Korean agency to advise concerning the stabilization of the cast of living and the fair destruction of essential commodities, the curbing of rising prices, the prevention of scarcities of consumer goods, the development of a coordinated program of production and distribution, and the elimination of economic conditions adverse to the welfare of the people Korea.

    SECTION Ⅱ. Creation of Korean Economic Advisory Board. The Korean Economic Advisory Board is hereby established as an agency of the Government of Korea. It shall consist of seven members, one of whom shall be the Recording Secretary. Members will be appointed by the Military Governor to Hold office during his pleasure. Members shall serve for such part of their time as the Chairman may require. They shall be compensated for service rendered, except that paid officials of the government shall receive no additional compensation.

    SECTION Ⅲ. Duties of the Board The Korean Economic Advisory Board shall make studies and recommend to the Military Governor program for establishing, administering and enforcing price control and rationing, and for allocations for production and methods of distribution.

    SECTION Ⅳ. Assistance to the Board. the Director of the Bureau of Commerce shall furnish such facilities and assistance as the Board may require in carrying out its work.

    SECTION Ⅴ. Effective Date This ordinance shall be effective on the tenth day after the date appearing hereon.
