REGULATION OF DRUGS, MEDICINES,
PHARMACEUTICALS AND RELATED ARTICLES

SECTION Ⅰ. Purpose and Effect. In accordance with paragraph 3 of General Notice Number 2, dated 20 October 1945, drugs, medicines, pharmaceutics and other items of commerce used in the practice of medicine or public health activities, and derivatives, compounds, or substances containing any of such materials, are declared to be in critical demand and needed for the benefit of the people of Korea. This scarcity requires some measure of control by the Military Government. This ordinance amends the provisions of paragraph 2 of General Notice Number 2, dated 20 October 1945.

SECTION Ⅱ. Regulation and Control. The Director of the Bureau of Public Health and Welfare of the Government of Korea is hereby designated as the sole controlling agency of the Military Government of Korea for drugs, medicines, pharmaceuticals and other items of commerce used in the practice of medicine or public health activities, and for derivatives, compounds or substances containing any of such materials. He will establish all necessary controls, including but not limited to price, rationing, allocation, licensing, purchasing, selling, production, distribution, transportations, storage, and export and import controls for the aforementioned articles.

SECTION Ⅲ. Penalties. Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance or any regulation or order issued by the Director of the Bureau of Public Health and Welfare pursuant thereto shall, upon conviction by a Military Occupation Court, suffer such punishment as the court shall determine.

SECTION Ⅳ. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall be effective on the tenth day after the date appearing hereon.
