Chap. ⅩⅧ.—An Act making an appropriation for defraying the expenses which may arise in carrying into effect the Treaty made between the United States and the King of Spain.
Appropriation for the expenses of carrying into effect the treaty made between the United States and the king of Spain.Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That for the purpose of defraying the expenses which may arise in carrying into effect, the treaty made between the United States and the king of Spain, a sum not exceeding eighteen thousand six hundred and eighty-three dollars, be, and the same hereby is appropriated, to be satisfied from the duties of impost and tonnage, to the end of the present year, not heretofore appropriated: Provided,Limitation of the commissioners’ compensation. That the compensation to be allowed to any of the commissioners, to be appointed in pursuance of any article of the said treaty, shall not exceed the rate of three thousand five hundred dollars, per annum.
