Chap. VII.An Act making appropriations for the purchase of books, and defraying certain expenses for the use of the Library of Congress.

5000 dollars appropriated for the purchase of books for the library of Congress.Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the sum of five thousand dollars be, and the same is hereby, appropriated out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the purchase of books, under the direction of the joint library committee, for the use of the library of Congress.

Purchasing of two stoves, &c.Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the sum of two hundred and ninety-five dollars and twenty-five cents be, and the same is hereby, appropriated out of any unappropriated money in the treasury, for defraying the expense for two stoves, and nine tons of coal, for the use of the library of Congress.
