Chap. II.—An Act to authorize the exchange of certain lots of land between the university of Michigan territory and Martin Baum and others.
Trustees of the university of Michigan authorized to exchange with Martin Baum certain land, for certain other land.
Act of May 20, 1826, ch. 90.Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the trustees of the university of Michigan be, and they are hereby, authorized to exchange with Martin Baum and others, the tracts of land designated as river lots, numbered one and two, in the United States’ reserve of twelve miles square, on the Miami of Lake Erie, heretofore purchased from the United States, and which, having been relinquished by the said Martin Baum under the provisions of the act of the second of March, one thousand eight hundred and twenty-one, for the relief of the purchasers of the public lands, were afterwards selected by the Secretary of the Treasury, for the said university, under the provisions of the act of the twentieth of May, one thousand eight hundred and twenty-six, entitled “An act concerning a seminary of learning in the territory of Michigan,” for such other President of United States to issue requisite patents.land as may be agreed upon by them; and the President of the United States, upon being advised by the said trustees that such exchange has been made, is hereby authorized and required to issue patents in such manner as may be necessary to carry this act into full effect.
