Chap. V.—An Act for the relief of William Haslet.
Claim on account of ship Liberty to be settled.Be it enacted, &c., That the proper accounting officers of the treasury department be, and they are hereby authorized and empowered to audit and settle the claim of William Haslet, on account of his ship Liberty, by ascertaining or causing to be ascertained the value thereof, at the time it was delivered, by the request of Charles D. Coxe, Esq. to the Bey of Tunis, in such manner and upon such terms as may be equitable and just.
Appropriation.Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the amount thereof, when so ascertained, shall be paid to the said William Haslet, out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated.
