My main contribution to Wikisource has been to the works of AE Housman, who is by far my favourite. Also I've made minor contributions to Yeats and also Lovecraft. I believe Wikisource is a great resource that provides the future of internet users access to the most important things in life, literature. Along with the other Wikimedia Projects we will have a wealth of knowledge rivaling that of Ancient Alexandria. And all that data will be accessible to the entire world simultaneously. It's a beautiful prospect.
My favourite poem changes from time to time, but for some reason the Borges poem Brunanburh, A.D. 937 jumped out of my High School literature text book. It wasn't required reading but was included in the book to append the section on Old English as it relates to the Battle of Burnanburh.
No one at your side. Last night I did a man to death in battle.
He was spirited and tall, of the clear line of Anlaf.
He tumbled on the ground and was a thing,
An object for crows.
Vainly will you await him, woman I have not seen.
They will not bear him back, the ships which fled
Over the yellow waters.
In the hour of the dawn,
Out of a dream, your hand will reach for him.
Your bed is cold.
Last night I killed a man in Brunanburh
