I'm still relatively new to the conventions of this site so advice on the proper or recommended formatting to use would be appreciated, but generally I would prefer to learn by example by observing edits that show up on my watchlist. So if I do something the wrong way, please fix the mistake and I'll study the change and imitate it thereafter. Thank you in advance for help in either form.
Here is a short description of my history with proofreading and online collaborative projects.
I did some proofreading and even submitted one book[1] directly to Project Gutenberg in 2002, back when wikis weren't famous and people still used modems and floppy disks. I'm quite proud of getting an email in connection with that from the late Michael Hart, who is one of my heroes. After that I worked on Distributed Proofreaders in my free time. I continued doing that in high school but stopped at around the time I entered university.
After graduating, I did some editing first on Wikipedia and then on a few sister projects.
I know Japanese and I would be interested in creating and posting translations of Japanese texts if a good opportunity to do so presents itself, but until then I'm happy to contribute if possible by proofreading.
