NZ novels digitisation project
[edit]I'm working on a project to digitize out-of-copyright (in NZ) NZ fiction, with the aim of releasing it as free ePubs and making it more available. So far I've done six (check the "In progress" tab here). While NZ and US copyright law differ, some of this work can be done through wikisource, and I'm looking for ways of using this platform to advance the project.
Authors with some works in the US public domain:
- Author:Arthur Henry Adams (1872 - 1936)
- Author:Charles Richards Allen (1885 - 1962)
- Author:Louisa Alice Baker (1856 - 1926)
- Author:Dulce Carman (1883 - 1970)
- Author:George Chamier (1842 - 1915)
- Author:Dulcie Deamer (1890 - 1972)
- Author:Jean Devanny (1894 - 1962)
- Author:Alfred Augustus Grace (1867 - 1942)
- Author:Edith Searle Grossmann (1863 - 1931)
- Author:Robin Hyde (1906 - 1939)
- Author:Edith Joan Lyttleton (1873 - 1945)
- Author:Jessie Mackay (1864 - 1938)
- Author:Jane Mander (1877 - 1949)
- Author:Isabel Peacocke (1881 - 1973)
- Author:Rosemary Frances Rees (1875 - 1963)
- Author:William Arthur Satchell (1861 - 1942)
- Author:Nelle Scanlan (1882 - 1968)
- Author:Dora Wilcox (1873 - 1953)
The New Zealand Electronic Text Center has done a lot of work already digitising C19th novels, which is probably why there aren't so many on Wikisource.
