An introduction

[edit]

My name is Joan Sevier, a nom de plume for Catherine J. C. McK. I'm a serial pedant that also has a presence on Wikipedia. You can find my user page there as well under the same name.

This it what I look like. Totally.

I am currently attempting to get as many of the published works of American philosopher Charles Sanders Santiago Peirce onto Wikisource as I can manage. I am beginning with his works most pertinent to the philosophy of religion, but will be expanding out to his other philosophical works in time, and perhaps even further. Please pardon my dust, as I am very much learning the ropes of Wikisource and how to format texts here. I will always delight in other people helping me out, especially where I haven't intuited or learned the conventions of this site well enough!

For now, my progress on this project is as follows:

A Neglected Argument for the Reality of God

What is Christian Faith?

The Architecture of Theories

The Doctrine of Necessity Examined

The Law of Mind

Some Consequences of Four Incapacities

Questions concerning certain Faculties claimed for Man

The Place of our Age in the History of Civilization

My hope is to have all the major texts available and annotated here, while also working on an introductory text to Peirce's spiritual philosophy. While a big task, I am hopeful it will be successful!

I have also done considerable work on other works related to classical American philosophy:

Pragmatism: A New Name for Some Old Ways of Thinking by William James
