Background

[edit]
The translator at Boston Harbor

Until I moved to Düsseldorf in February 2007, I was employed as a software engineer specializing in scientific and engineering applications. I coded primarily in C++ and Perl under Linux. I'm now self-employed as a technical translator (German to English).

On the natural language front, I've passed the Goethe Institute's Zentrale Oberstufenprüfung documenting my proficiency at CEFR level C2. This is something which I hope and trust not too many native U.S. English speaking engineers have taken the trouble to accomplish.

I've also studied French for a couple of years, but never acquired much proficiency with it. Some day I'd like to master that language.
