I guess my first question would be this: How do I go about creating pages? AutomaticStrikeout (talk) 21:18, 8 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
The simple answer is to point you to Help:Beginner's guide to adding texts. However, I have some time right now to be of practical help. So, which work do you want to add to the library? Beeswaxcandle (talk) 21:25, 8 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
To start with, I would like to add the text for a hymn by the name of Cleansing Wave. I believe it is in the public domain, as it was written in the 1870s and the author died in 1874. AutomaticStrikeout (talk) 21:29, 8 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
Yes, it's PD. Go ahead and create a mainspace page for this one. Here's the link: Cleansing Wave. You'll need to use a {{header}} template and use {{PD-old}} for the license after the categories. When you've done that I'll come back and tell you about what to put on the talk page. Beeswaxcandle (talk) 21:59, 8 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
Good. Now, a couple of bits of cleanup are needed. There is no Wikipedia page for this hymn, so we don't need the Wikipedia link to be active. The year in that format isn't triggering the right category. You either need to remove the (?) or change it to 1871/?.
The next thing to do is to go to the Talk page and fill in a {{Textinfo}} template. The most important field is the Source field. This is where you put where other users can find the original text that you've copied. We only do this for works that aren't going through the Index/Proofread process.
Following this, creating the Author page is also needed. (Make sure though that we don't already have her under a) the name without the W; or b) with the full name.) Beeswaxcandle (talk) 03:19, 9 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
