Hello, Cloudmountain, welcome to Wikisource! Thanks for your interest in the project; we hope you'll enjoy the community and your work here. If you need help, see our help pages (especially Adding texts and Wikisource's style guide). You can discuss or ask questions from the community in general at the Scriptorium. The Community Portal lists tasks you can help with if you wish. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me on my talk page.

FYI, I proposed Brahma (Poem) for deletion because it is a duplicate, have moved the other articles you have uploaded and also removed some categories that related to the author rather than the work. If you are unhappy with any of this let me know and I will explain my actions in more detail. Cheers, John Vandenberg 08:51, 9 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

djvu files

[edit]

Hi, as you can see on Best Russian Short Stories/Introduction, when the text has been placed onto a DJVU file, like Index:Best Russian Short Stories.djvu, the text does not need to be duplicated. The "physical" pages can be included into a "logical" structure. The reason we want the text "on" the djvu pages is so that the text can be easily compared to the images. The software also allows pages to proofread: they start as "not proofread", and two people can proofread the page and edit the page to mark it as proofread. images

[edit]

Hi, I have deleted the image you have just uploaded, as Wikisource can use images on our sister project "Commons". Our image guidelines recommend uploading all media to the Commons project unless the images are not suitable there for copyright reasons, yet would be suitable here due to slight variations in the copyright policies.

I noticed your image was slightly different from the one I have used; is that OK? John Vandenberg (chat) 08:57, 11 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Anne Finch

[edit]

Index:Poems and extracts - Wordsworth.djvu has many of the works of Author:Anne Finch, Countess of Winchilsea. I am currently uploading the raw OCR text now. John Vandenberg (chat) 11:06, 11 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Making All (or most) of Anne Finch available.

[edit]

Excellent, except that several of the pieces in Wordsworth's are excerpts. Would rather see ALL of Finch as a djvu but do not know how to upload. Here it is from Archive. Help, please. http://www.archive.org/stream/poemsofannecount00wincuoft/poemsofannecount00wincuoft.djvu

Im one step ahead of you: Index:Poems of Anne Countess of Winchilsea 1903.djvu John Vandenberg (chat) 15:45, 11 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

LibriVox files

[edit]

Hi Cloudmountain, thank you for uploading public domain LibriVox files to Wikisource. I suggest, however, that you upload those files to the Wikimedia Commons so that all Wikimedia Projects can use them. (There is one exception to this rule: if a file is not accepted on the Commons due to a slightly differing copyright policy, you can upload them here.) Once you have uploaded the files to the Commons, you can contact me on my talk page and I'll delete the local copies. I hope you enjoy your time here!--GrafZahl (talk) 14:26, 22 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Years of the recent works?

[edit]

Last year we added the YEAR field to the {{header}}, so you within the header you can add something like year = 1850 and this will show in the header, and also add the work to the respective year category. — billinghurst sDrewth 09:24, 20 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

[edit]

Look to be very valid concerns, so I have raised them as possible copyright violation. — billinghurst sDrewth 04:03, 22 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
