[edit]- Alright. It's nice to be welcomed, though I guess it should've been done back in November. :) ----Gwern (contribs) 04:58, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
This is a problem entry on multiple levels. It would be much better if it could be properly identified in Burton's works. You appear to have taken the present version from the w:The Book of Fantasy, the 1988 second translation of the Borges anthology. That article shows it as "The Tale of the Poet". It was originally translated as Extraordinary Tales in 1971, and the Google Books snippet shows some differences from the translation that you submitted. The Burton author page shows a date for this of 1911, but that only adds to the confusion, and suggests that we are dealing with a Spanish translation of one of Burton's works. The original Spanish language anthology may give some indication of the real source, even if the second translator that you used neglects this. To add to the confusion your extract may be a copyvio. Burton's original is obviously in the public domain, and so probably would be the 1911 Spanish translation, but this may not apply to the new translation of the translation. That being said, given the small size of the extract, the copyright issue is not a big concern. Comments? Eclecticology 19:09, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
