Hello, and welcome to Wikisource! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
You are welcome to continue editing articles without logging in, but you may wish to create an account. Doing so is free, requires no personal information, and provides several benefits. For one thing, if you continue to edit without a username, your IP address is used to publicly identify you.
In any case, I hope you enjoy donating your time to grow the Wikisource library that is free for everyone to use! In discussions, please sign your comments using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your IP address (or username if you're logged in) and the date. If you need help, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question here (click edit) and place {{helpme}}
before your question. Again, welcome! — billinghurst sDrewth 05:47, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
pictures ≠ 1000 words.
[edit]I could strangle you for the pic & excerpt thing if I didn't know your intent wasn't well meant. Prost! George Orwell III (talk) 21:34, 18 October 2010 (UTC)
My bad. Sincere apologies. I like to learn from interacting with Wikipedians. Hanteng (talk) 21:49, 18 October 2010 (UTC)
- That's fine but you don't want the interactions to come off as some 'test of mettle' and that's what these things start to feel like when the discussion goes on so long due to having to flush out all the facts as we progress intstead of early on. Not much I can do about this single case now so let's just learn from it and move on. George Orwell III (talk) 22:04, 18 October 2010 (UTC)
Index of remarks
[edit]I see another edit was made to the main namespace to reveal just an excerpt of the full remarks now (an action that can be considered, at best, as somewhat rude to the user who originally initiated it but also has been made clear since that such excerpts can never be hosted here under current WS guidelines - irregardless of its copyright status). I hope the user can be a little more patient and let the sometimes-slow review process and discussions run it's normal course & in due time to properly secure (what I believe will be) the eventual decision favoring the inclusion of the work. If we do it 'right' the first time; the less likely it will ever be in question again!
In anticipation, I've started an Index page for the Presentation Remarks based on an existing layout of another picture-based work. Would you be kind enough to separate the 3 previous section pics as associated individual images to the current main one on Commons? You don't have to use the same exact file names for the jpgs that I used as placeholders - they were primarily for illustrative purposes anyway. A properly sourced, transcribed and eventually transcluded work increases WS credibility while improving the chances for discussion input & resolution. Hi, this is the English Wikisource and I wonder if you've uploaded the above work to the wrong place? Beeswaxcandle (talk) 18:33, 26 February 2013 (UTC)
- sorry, my bad. How embarrassing. I try to fix it by deleting the content first. Do you happen to know where to submit a speedy delete here?--Hanteng (talk) 02:31, 27 February 2013 (UTC)
- Once you emptied it, I knew that you had seen my message, so I deleted it then. However, to request a speedy delete here just add {{sdelete|reason}} to the page and it'll come up on our list. Beeswaxcandle (talk) 02:50, 27 February 2013 (UTC)
