OK, I'll think about translating the thing though I feel so much happier when I have to translate into German. As for the history of dictionaries, I actually once planned to write my dissertation on the topic and still have got a bibliography on the web which I have not taken care of since I converted the old word file into raw html at http://www.pierre-marteau.com/resources/lexica/lexica-01.html.
