Hello

[edit]

Hello Omnipaedista, welcome to Wikisource! Thanks for your interest in the project; we hope you'll enjoy the community and your work here.

You'll find an (incomplete) index of our works listed at Wikisource:Works, although for very broad categories like poetry you may wish to look at the categories like Category:Poems instead.

Please take a glance at our help pages (especially Adding texts and Wikisource's style guide). Most questions and discussions about the community are held at the Scriptorium.

The Community Portal lists tasks you can help with if you wish. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me on my talk page!

Please leave a redirect when moving Author pages; you have broken several links with your recent moves. These need to be corrected. --EncycloPetey (talk) 13:34, 24 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the heads up. Note that there is no author named 'Aelian Galenus', so no redirect is needed. [1] --Omnipaedista (talk) 14:30, 24 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
But you reverted to bad grammar. My mistake on the spelling; he is also known as "Aelius" Galen. See the Wikipedia article if corrections need to be made. --EncycloPetey (talk) 18:04, 24 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
It was just a typo that I corrected two minutes after my revert. --Omnipaedista (talk) 03:29, 25 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the fix, however

[edit]

The old method of notes/references appearing in the body after a work is something from which we have moved away. So as per Special:Diff/4942862 I have moved it into the notes section. The basic reasoning is that the body of the page is kept for the work and components found in the work; so then notes that someone/somewhere has been done with regard to the work are kept as notes. We haven't set up a pogrom to move them, so they are just things that we can move in time when stumbled upon. — billinghurst sDrewth 12:48, 25 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the heads up, --Omnipaedista (talk) 12:51, 25 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
Also, Special:Diff/4942889, the year of publishing is of the work, which in this case is the translation, so it was correct. On the subsequent edit, I have added the original work as a specific category, which is about the only time that we freehand works categories. The reasoning on this is that we can have multiple translations, so capturing them chronologically is important, even multiple translations by the same author (if we ever are so fortunate to be in that scenario). It even works where English is the original language, and we have multiple versions/editions of the same work, otherwise they all end up as the original year and unable to differentiate — billinghurst sDrewth 13:26, 25 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguated author pages use hyphens

[edit]

I saw that you moved an author page to having an endash, from a hyphen. The community decided a while ago to utilise hyphens, so I have moved the page back. — billinghurst sDrewth 13:33, 26 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Unexplained revert@Bible (Wikisource)/Psalms

[edit]

Why did you revert Psalms 134/135? Sije (talk) 11:23, 11 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

I was planning to restore the text after I have properly formatted it. I just did so. --Omnipaedista (talk) 07:19, 13 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
OK. Thanks. Sije (talk) 10:13, 13 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Blank lines on version pages

[edit]

The double blank lines at the bottom of these pages is intentional. Please do not remove them. --EncycloPetey (talk) 20:49, 31 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

All right! ----Omnipaedista (talk) 23:02, 31 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

On English Wikisource there is a scanned version of this from Ruffhead's collection?
