Add topicPresidential Veto Messages
[edit]Hey Pakman044 good job so far, but I think it would be better if you added a header to the messages you have so far that make it easier to get back to the list of veto messages. This is just a suggestion to make it easier to navigate. Wabbit98 05:03, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
- That's an excellent idea...as soon as I figure out what it should say. I'll put something together I suppose. –Pakman044 05:05, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
- Well it can say what the title of the veto message, have a link to the previous veto message, and it links it back to the main page of veto messages. And a link to the next veto message in the list. Wabbit98 05:07, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
- Hmm, I didn't think about doing it as a linked list per se. It's a serviceable idea for now I suppose, which is about I'll my brain has capacity to think about at this hour. Thanks! –Pakman044 05:09, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

Veto articles
[edit]Hi, Pakman,
The reason I removed the backlink was because the thing at the top of the page should be the header. This isn't to say that backlinks shouldn't be on the page, though. I can only think of two possibilities for how to do that kind of navigation (because you're right, there should be a kind of upper-level navigation to return to the "master veto page"):
- Provide a link in the "notes" section of the header (since you have linked the veto messages together in a chronological(?) fashion, the link can't go in the customary "previous" parameter)
- Categorize all the veto messages and on the category page provide a link to the master list.
Personally, I think the first idea might be the best idea. Something like "Return to the comprehensive list of presidential vetoes.
Note: I also moved the master list to the "Wikisource:" namespace as that is the appropriate place for a page that doesn't contain any source texts, but merely lists the texts.—Zhaladshar (Talk) 02:52, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
- Just a note, the Wikisource: namespace is no longer used for topic indexes, we use the Portal: namespace instead. Inductiveload—talk/contribs 21:56, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
