[edit]Hi, Phaedriel,
Just letting you know I've done the name switch you asked for. Good luck, and I look forward to working with you!—Zhaladshar (Talk) 04:30, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
Poems
[edit]Hi, Phaedriel,
I've noticed you've been adding poems to Wikisource. I'd like to let you know that we have a special extension here on Wikisource that is very useful for adding poems. The specific tags you want to add are <poem>
and </poem>
. These tags do two major things: they preserve line breaks (so you don't have to add <br> tags) and preserve indentation (so you don't have to use to do indentation). For an example, look at Lights. Besides making for a cleaner source code, it also saves a bunch of time. :) —Zhaladshar (Talk) 15:05, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
well, hello there!
[edit]Hi Sharon!
I got your e-mail, and it's good to know that you're here! I haven't done anything on Wikisource yet, though I eventually plan on translating poems into English for placement here. I suppose I could start to contribute public domain English poems too, that wouldn't take much work. Over on English Wikipedia, you might be interested in joining the Poetry WikiProject. Thanks for your message! Love, Kyoko 23:59, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
How does she do that?
[edit]Hello, Sharon K!
I've just arrived at Wikisource, and I'm bowled over. I love the idea of complete œvres of poetry/literature etc. linked with 'pedia entries and other resources, and have made my first forays in the "Rupert Brooke" area, getting some of his works up and planning to do the rest. I see he's on your list too, and that you're well on with the task of Ella Wheeler Wilcox's works.
I don't mind telling you, I'm a little confused over style. For instance, I've looked at the WB Yeats page and it seems to be a random assemblage of poetry. You appear to be much more systematic with your EWW entries, putting them into publications, numbering poems etc. Is there a rule, or do we just follow whatever works the poet published? (This is particularly confusing to me as collections often order things differently from the original works...) Please give me some steer on this, as I would hate to make work for people or commit egregious and embarassing stylistic errors!
Anyway, I like your style and I love your userpage. I'm hoping to save you the task of "doing" Brooke, and I may just get a "to do" list all of my own, a bit like yours.
Kind regards,
Ebenezer.Elijah 19:48, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
AuthorPage Poem Order Debate
[edit]Salutations, Phaedriel!
I've kicked off a wee discussion in the Scriptorium about the ordering of poems on author's pages. You may want to drop in and put in your two penn'orth, as I think Pathoschild may be making a definitive ruling based on the outcome.
Fond regards, --Ebenezer.Elijah 22:22, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
- Well, they seem to have left everyone to their own devices on this one. I see that you're doing a power on Ella Wheeler. My own pale efforts at imitation continue with Brooke, but I'm trying to turn my mind to a grand projet, namely Rabbie Burns! I see that the Encyclopedia Britannica 1911 refers to the "Centenary Edition" as the "definitive version" so I'm cooking up a scheme not only to get his works online at Wikisource, but also a parallel annotated version based on the "Centenary". However, my big problem is stickability, and I may need help as well as encouragement. I saw Burns was on your list, and I thought you may be able to give me a few pointers for kicking off a "Wikiproject". Are you in? (I'm practicing annotations with my Brooke Memoir, but I have no idea how to run a parallel glossary, and any tips would be appreciated...) Do let me know what you think. Fond regards, Ebenezer.Elijah 21:22, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
How nice!

- I second that. :) Shalom 07:23, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
Admin
[edit]I suggest that you consider requesting adminship at Wikisource:Administrators. The process is fairly straightforward; on the flip side, you won't set any records for the number of support votes. Best regards, Shalom 07:27, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
Hello,
You may have noticed the discussion about the copyright regarding these poems. They were copied to Wikilivres, but there are some missing. Where did you get them? Best regards, Yann 13:27, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
