Hi &. Apologies I broke {{TOC link}} briefly. Careful testing all shot to hell by clumsy enabling... My change is back in - this time in the right place, so please let me know if anything is still misbehaving. Apologiesmany. Regards, MODCHK (talk) 12:19, 28 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Template double single

[edit]

We already have {{"}} and {{'}}. --EncycloPetey (talk) 23:41, 28 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

I noticed those, but does either of them add the slight padding between the " and the ' ? This came up for me on Page:United States v. Windsor.pdf/11, where there is at one point a quote-within-a-quote-within-a-quote. Simply writing 'actual or imminent, not "conjectural or hypothetical."' might confuse readers as to precisely which quotations are ending, and putting a space between the two seemed like it would be less true to the original text, as well as slightly more disruptive to reading flow than the fraction-of-a-space that {{" '}} provides. — PinkAmpers&(Je vous invite à me parler) 23:48, 28 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
OK, I misread and misunderstood what the template was about; the WP name is less visually ambiguous. It looked like you were separating two single quotes from another single quote, which is a situation that occurs here and has ambiguous wiki-meaning. Clear documentation would help with your newly added template. Also, what is the purpose of the trailing <noinclude> you put into the template? --EncycloPetey (talk) 00:00, 29 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
Ah. My bad. Should have included documentation; I'll fix that shortly. If you think it would make more sense to give the template a less ambiguous title, as has been done on WP, there's no objection on my part. And the noinclude was just an instance of rules 22 and 23 of the Internet. ;) — PinkAmpers&(Je vous invite à me parler) 00:04, 29 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi.. I've noted some gaps in the page numbering. Would you mind carefully checking to see if these are printer erratum or genuinely missing pages from the scan? Thanks in advance. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 09:51, 12 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi ShakespeareFan00! Thanks for keeping this talkpage from going a decade without messages. :D Could you point me to the pages in question? Happy to take a look. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe) 23:05, 12 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
p. 85, pp. 196 are apparent missing pages so far.. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 23:08, 12 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
BTW If you can read Hebrew there was some lint-errors in other works present in the Translation: namespace that needed a careful contributor to fix. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 23:10, 12 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
@ShakespeareFan00: Huh. Per [1] and [2] it looks like those are just missing from this scan. What to do? -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe) 23:16, 12 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
Well the steps are typically.
Can you find an alternative scan that is complete?
If not then you should ask at scan lab for an experienced contributor to insert blank pages in the file, once they have ALL been identified. I would suggest strongly doing a page-completeness check anyway.

Is this a different printing of the same work: https://archive.org/details/standardprayerbo0000unse ?
It might have the missing pages. :) ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 23:39, 12 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
