For subpages

[edit]

Thought that I would show the current way that we format subpages of works example. We try to do relative links rather than hard links, and this is in case of a need to move a work it means we can just move and not need to edit pages, plus for years and categories, we generally only put these at the top level of a work, rather than on every page. — billinghurst sDrewth 11:41, 22 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thanks Billinghurst. I shall keep that in mind. Radartooth (talk) 05:58, 25 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

And I have run through with my tools, and updated the previous works, and the last lot there was little to do. To note that I have also moved a couple of works. We do not disambiguate with words like (novel) as if there are different versions, then it is quite possible that all versions will be novels, so if we need to disambiguate we use author's name, translatorr's name, or a year version. If we don't need to disambiguate, we usually will not, leaving that to another day, if at all a requirement. smileybillinghurst sDrewth 13:57, 25 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thanks again. smiley Radartooth (talk) 03:18, 26 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Empty works

[edit]

Hi. It is the community's preference that blank works are not created. It is felt that they end up being left empty and misrepresent the site. If there are not immediate plans to proofread and transclude the works, then probably should delete the main ns pages until there are works ready to transclude. — billinghurst sDrewth 08:22, 10 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for this, billinghurst. I shall proofread and transclude as soon as possible. - radartooth --Radartooth (talk) 09:14, 10 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

[edit]

Hi Radartooth. I noticed that you uploaded The Intruder (Georgia Wood Pangborn) today, but you didn't add a copyright tag. Per the copyright policy works should be tagged to indicate their copyright status. Please could you ensure that this and previous contributions of yours are properly tagged. Please do ask me or at the Scriptorium if you're not sure about anything. Thanks, BethNaught (talk) 21:10, 15 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi BethNaught. Thanks for this. I have added the appropriate copyright tag.

Death Comes for the Archbishop

[edit]

I can't see that you have noted the source for your recent addition. What was it ? -- Beardo (talk) 23:00, 25 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi Beardo. I have mentioned the Archive.org file as the source. Radartooth (talk) 06:14, 26 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for adding that. -- Beardo (talk) 07:32, 27 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. Radartooth (talk) 10:24, 27 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Awareness that straight paste is less preferred

[edit]

Hi. Checking that you are aware that English Wikisource has a preference for works to be provided as scan-backed versions as this is a better way to get proofread and validated pages, per Help:Proofread. We do allow copy and paste however where there is a scan available, it is definitely the preference. Thanks. — billinghurst sDrewth 04:12, 10 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

I see that you created this page which has no content. I assume that it was created in error and can be put for speedy deletion - is that so ? -- Beardo (talk) 05:46, 7 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi. I created the author page with the intent of creating a Wikisource file of her novel The Heart of Kentucky. I have not been able to do it yet. So, I guess we can speedily delete the page. Radartooth (talk) 17:47, 7 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
There is the page Author:Hannah Daviess Pittman which has content. The page that I mentioned is in main space, not an author page. -- Beardo (talk) 05:12, 8 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
Ah ok. Yes, the Heart of Kentucky page is yet to be populated. I guess we can delete it. Radartooth (talk) 10:01, 8 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
