Space (?)

[edit]

Hi! When I use <pages index="xxxxxxx.djvu" from=x to=x />, it seems like there is a space is included between each page. I'm uploading Khmer text, because there isn't km.wikisource.org yet, and Khmer text is not using space to separate each word like English. So how can I remove that space? ទេព សុវិចិត្រ (talk) 18:20, 24 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi you are welcome, but I really do not know answer to your question. Also we only host English works here, Khmer text will be suitable for the multilingual wikisource (some admins here are also admins there, you can check at Wikisource:Administrators.) Re: Mass uploading to Internet Archive:

[edit]

Hi, glad to see the first request. :) I'm not sure I've been clear though, I was mainly offering admin help. Uploading is something everyone can do. ;-) --Nemo 09:42, 4 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hundreds or thousands of books is something I can do, if it can be done programmatically (or I'm provided all the metadata semi-ready). What I'm not really interested in is uploading individual books or groups of a dozen books, especially when the metadata has to be extracted, parsed and converted/reformatted manually from HTML or other messy sources. --Nemo 09:59, 4 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
Yes, journals are usually easier: as long as they contain the issue number (and date, if possible) in the filename, I regularly upload thousands of them even when they don't have any associated metadata, if it's very repetitive and easy to produce. --Nemo 10:20, 4 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the fresh eyes

[edit]

It is great when someone with fresh eyes looks at our project and help namespace pages, and it is usually totally unexciting though necessary. So from me, a thanks for doing it. smileybillinghurst sDrewth 12:56, 8 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Please see Index talk:Indian mathematics, Kaye (1915).djvu

[edit]

Hello.

As noted in above reference I have spotted at least one duplicated page scan in this work. Although I haven't spotted any yet, may I ask that you please keep an eye out for missing pages. I don't think the duplication is a show-stopper (it might indicate there is a missing plate near Page:Indian mathematics, Kaye (1915).djvu/37 at worst.)

I would appreciate your thoughts, in particular regarding if you think there might be any likely benefit in notifying anybody else about this matter at this stage?

Done See my reply there. Solomon7968 (talk) 16:21, 19 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi.

You may already have noticed, but I found another small issue with this work and noted it. If you want to redistribute pages to the various chapters (or even tear up my guesses and start again!) please fell free. I had a lot of fun proofreading this thing (I hope all the unicode accented letters work for everybody else); thank you for finding it in the first place!

If they've uploaded something, just check the meta xml files in their items and you'll see their email address. Thanks for working on Wikiquote! --Nemo 18:33, 6 May 2017 (UTC)Reply
