Constitution

[edit]

Hi. thanks again for pitching in.

The thing is that the current drive here on WS is to match the current articles to actual scans so the main article space is not constantly peppered with pointless edits. Unlike Wikipedia, our works are not open to debate - what we find on the prited (scanned) page is what is presented to the reader. Period.

In light of this - you should be tweaking the matched text to scans found here. The stuff you are currently editing is going to be deleted and the transcription will transcluded there in its place. If you are unfamilar the concept of transclusion, you can see it action in the current Wikisource:Sandbox. Making edits in the Page: namespace will automatically appear in the transcluded Sandbox after its refreshed. Let me know if you have any questions. — George Orwell III (talk) 00:08, 25 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

I, Pencil

[edit]

The version of I, Pencil that we have now is a scan of the original publication of the essay (from the Freeman magazine). Is a scan of the 1958 edition available? I don't think much would be gained by including another version of the essay, but I could be wrong as I don't know what differences there are (other than the different subheadings). If you can find a scan of the 1958 edition and want to add it, go right ahead; we can set up a dismabiguation page to handle the multiple versions. —Spangineer (háblame) 11:27, 29 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
