Hello, and welcome to Wikisource! Thank you for joining the project. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
Please consider putting a brief description of yourself on your user page. If you are already a contributor to another Wikimedia project, such as Wikipedia, please mention this on your user page so we know how to contact you. Also, mention which languages you understand if English is not your first language.
In any case, I hope you enjoy donating your time to grow the Wikisource library that is free for everyone to use! In discussions, please "sign" your comments using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your IP address (or username if you're logged in) and the date. If you need help, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question here (click edit) and place {{helpme}}
before your question.
Again, welcome! John Vandenberg (chat) 23:53, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
I have created Index:124-2009 Brunetti Obit.djvu which is ready for your ministrations. By clicking on the page numbers, the text will be taken from the text layer of the file, and you can format it. Once text is formatted as you wish then we can transclude into the main namespace. Any wikilinks within Wikisource or to other sites are best done at this stage, noting that for WP it is [[w:linky text|visible text]]
In the main namespace, we will need to start off with a {{header}} template and complete. I suggest that you use
|override_author= (court name) in the Author field
and- add {{wikipedia|wp link}} in the notes to the judge's WP page.
The text to transclude this work is
<pages index="124-2009 Brunetti Obit.djvu" from=1 to=2 />
You may wish to play with the margins around the transclusion, and I would suggest that as a minimum that you use <div class=indented-page><pages ...></div>
Stick {{PD-USGov}} at the base and any Categories. Suggestions would be Obituaries and 2009 works. If you want to list the person at Wikisource:Obituaries then please do so, and we would then add {{indexes|Obituaries}} to the top of the work.
Over at WP, there are a number of linking templates to WS, see w:Category:Wikisource templates
I don't think that I have forgotten anything, but happy to be called upon for questions. BTW, I moved the djvu file to Commons. As I mentioned, that is where we put the files if we are able as that allows the file to be used across all the wikis. billinghurst (talk) 21:11, 4 November 2009 (UTC)
