Hello, Wsiegmund, welcome to Wikisource! Thanks for your interest in the project; we hope you'll enjoy the community and your work here.

You'll find an (incomplete) index of our works listed at Wikisource:Works, although for very broad categories like poetry you may wish to look at the categories like Category:Poems instead.

Please take a glance at our help pages (especially Adding texts and Wikisource's style guide). Most questions and discussions about the community are in the Scriptorium.

The Community Portal lists tasks you can help with if you wish. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me on my talk page! John Vandenberg (chat) 16:48, 22 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Journal Of William Ellis

[edit]

I've noted the source in the typical fashion. From the header field "section", I am guessing that this work needs to be marked as {{incomplete}} as well, so I did that, linking to archive.org. If you are keen on continuing with this work, archive.org has a DJVU file, which can be uploaded onto Commons, and then "browsed". See Index:A Concise History of the U.S. Air Force.djvu for an example. One problem will be that the archive.org djvu file is 28 MB, which exceeds the Commons maximum of 20MB, so the djvu file will need to be split into two chunks, preferably at some logical boundary. If want to continue with this, but any of it seems to difficult, holler and I will be happy to do whatever step is causing you grief. John Vandenberg (chat) 17:37, 22 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

From your Wikipedia page, I see you are a birder. Well, this week we are collaborating on Ornithologist Author:John Gould. If you are interested, any of the works listed there that are followed by a link to gallica.bnf.fr can be set up as transcription projects. John Vandenberg (chat) 17:42, 22 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for the kind invitation. I will try to help if I can find time. Best wishes, Wsiegmund 00:31, 23 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
