What about Soft redirects?

I really don't know what bot can do, but Bible (World English) needs alot of soft redirects. The links on that page havn't been changed so it will give you the redirect title. Is this something you can do?--BirgitteSB 02:03, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

Abilities of Xenophon

Hi, Jude, I was wondering what abilities Xenophon can do. I have a couple tasks in mind that I might want it to do, but I don't know if it is able. Could you tell me what you've set it up for (e.g., regexp)? Thanks.—Zhaladshar ^(Talk) 13:31, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

categories

Can this bot do things like:

• Remove Template:Federalist Papers from all the pages it links to (this is pending at Wikisource:Proposed deletions and thus shouldn't be done immediately)
• Remove Category:Middle English from all members of the category between Bible (Wycliffe)/1 Corinthis and Bible (Wycliffe)/Wisdom? This could be done immediately, since all of these appear in Category:Wycliffe Bible books and Bible (Wycliffe) is already categorized in Category:Middle English.
• Rename categories such as Category:Religious Speeches to Category:Religious speeches and carry out all recategorizations? Most subcategories of Category:Speeches are similarly miscapitalized.

Cool. Actually though, I just downloaded AWB and used it to go through the articles I mentioned in the Middle English category. Then I realized that Wikisource:Bots applies to semi-automatic editing as well. So I wonder if I need to start a bot account to run AWB... --Spangineer^wp (háblame) 02:46, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

I run an altered copy of AWB, along with various pywikipedia and shell script hacks of other stuff. I run AWB on auto-mode when everything works fine, so if you'd like me to do some of the categories on auto, let me know on my talk page. :-) Jude (talk) 05:09, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

Mass move with soft redirecting

Hi. I'd like to move roughly 1000 pages and put soft redirects over the old name for use with the new ProofreadPage extension. In particluar, I'd like to do

s|A_Treatise_on_Electricity_and_Magnetism:_Volume_I/\([0-9]{3}\)|Page:A_Treatise_on_Electricity_and_Magnetism_Volume_1_\1.jpg|

and

s|A_Treatise_on_Electricity_and_Magnetism:_Volume_II/\([0-9]{3}\)|Page:A_Treatise_on_Electricity_and_Magnetism_Volume_2_\1.jpg|

and place the suggested soft redirect over the old page, whenever the new page does not exist yet (I've done a couple of moves manually). Can your bot do something like that?
