Mr. Li Su-mai

李修梅字要仙

(Li Hsiu-mei)

Mr. Li Su-mai was born at Hangchow, Chekiang Province, in 1873. He was first taken as one of the five Chinese Magistrates at the International Mixed Court and holds the position of second assistant magistrate. He is a well-known Chinese scholar. He studied law privately and practiced at his profession for several years before his appointment to the Mixed Court Bench in Shanghai. In recognition of his services in the post he has held this position for past six years. The Chinese government has conferred upon him several decorations, and has appointed him a District Magistrate in waiting. Mr. Li's name has also been registered with the Cabinet for further promotion.
