Dr. Shun-Ching Lee
李順卿字幹臣
Dr. Shun-Ching Lee was born in Shantung Province in 1895 and received his early education in Tsingtau. He graduated from the University of Nanking, in 1919 with the B. S. degree and passed the Tsing-Hua fellowship examination and was sent to the U. S. A. in August 1919. Arriving in America he entered the graduate school of Yale University specializing in forestry and got the M. F. degree in 1921. After graduation he was transferred to the University of Chicago and specialized in botany. In 1922 he was elected a member of the Sigma Xi Society. He received the Ph. D. degree with honor from the University of Chicago in 1923. He was appointed as head of the Department of Biology of the Peking National Normal University, Peking, which position he is still holding.
