SHIMODA, Utako (TOKYO), lady educationalist. Was in Japanese Government and Court service; founded a private girls' school, 1895; on founding of Peeress's School, was appointed instructor, and was promoted President of Peeress's Section, April, 1908 upon that institution being placed under the same management as the Peer's School; is noted for ability in composing sonnets.
