DEANS, Rev. William (I CHANG), Minister of Church of Scotland; b. Oct. 28, 1864. Educ.: Wilton Public School; Edinburgh University. Arrived in China, March, 1890; Senior Missionary of Church of Scotland since 1893; was present at riots of 1891, 1895 and 1900; in 1891 troubles lost all possessions; at present time head of training institution for native workers and of Boy's High School, Ichang; correspondent of " N.-C.
