Government Central School ( now Queen's College) Nov. 30, 1884: acting first clerk Magistracy and Clerk to Justices, April, 1894; seconded as Acting Headmaster, British Kowloon College, Jan., 1895; acting Deputy Registrar and Accountant of the Supreme Court of Hongkong, and appointed Commissioner for Oaths, Sept., 1897; acting Deputy Registrar and Appraiser, Dec., 1898; J.P., May, 1900; Deputy Registrar and Accountant of the Supreme Court with effect from June, 1901, to Aug.. 1902; called to the Bar at Gray's Tnn r June, 1903; appointed Commissioner to take acknowledgments of married women to deeds in Hongkong, Aug., 1905.
