39 The morning

roll call.

44 Through Paul's sacrifice, husband and wife pass each other unknowingly

    on the road.

45 After weeks of hardship, Anna reaches the convict

  camp.

husband's cottage!"

55 The Governor receives an unexpected visit from a prison inspector.

56 "I bring a pardon for a man

named Serge Kartoff!"

57 "Before Heaven, Mikhail

told us you were dead!"

believe me!"

forged pardon."
