The Man from Texas 1 In the days when a quick draw and a quicker trig- ger finger meant life or death in the fraction of a second --

2 -- the boys on the Diamond M ranch were always ready to stack up the 'Man from Texas' against any puncher in the valley.

TEXAS.......... TOM MIX.

3 "Here, Texas, is a letter for

you. Hope it's good news."

4 The old, old story of a trusting heart.

5 "Please, John - don't leave

       me - please!"

6 With a heart consumed with anguish by thoughts of his sister's plight, and a determination to avenge her.

7 "I'm sorry boss, but I'm leaving on a hunting trip - going gunning for a rat."

8 "Will you saddle my bronc' Joe - I've got to hit the

  trail in a hurry."

9 While Texas starts on his trip of vengeance.

10 "My name is Hargrave - do you need a good dealer - I'll guarantee you can't lose with

  me handling the cards."

11 "I hope you get him Texas - remember the job's always

  open for you here."

12 Trying to rest after a hard day's riding, with a mind tortured by thoughts of his sister.

13 Moya Dalton, a daughter of the West, whose father owned one of the largest ranches in the valley.

14 "Pardon me, Miss Dalton, you dropped this letter."

15 "May I have the pleasure of

 walking home with you?"

16 Near the end of the long journey.

17 Texas reaches his goal.

18 "I'm looking for my sister - she wrote me a letter which

 was mailed from here."

19 "There's no girl stopping

         here."

20 "Here's a picture of her husband. Maybe you have

seen him hereabouts."

21 "I remember him - he left a

  few days before your
      sister died."

22 Jack Hargrave invites Moya

to take a morning ride.

23 Persistant questioning has kept Texas on Hargrave's trail.

24 "Help - Help!"

25 "I want to thank you for

rescuing me from that
        man."

26 "The man who failed to keep

     his promise."

27 Texas follows Hargrave, satisfied that he has

 found the man he
     is after.

28 "Here's my gun sheriff, he

 had it coming to him."

29

   "Take back your gun,

stranger, it was self defense,

      and I saw it."

30 A sympathetic listener to his story.

31 "He is the man my sister wrote about - I swore I'd

      get him!"

32 Attracted by Moya, Texas gets a job nearby, and in the months that pass, finds a rival for Moya's hand in the person of the ex-sheriff.

33 "This will settle it once and for all and prove who she

      likes best."

34 Unwilling to take a chance, Frank beats the mail to Moya's.

35 "Moya, will you go with me

    to the dance?"

36 "Well, since you are the first to ask me, I'll go with you."

37 The eagerly awaited answer from Moya.

38 The night of the dance.

39 "Where is Texas - Isn't he

        coming?"

40 "Guess he doesn't think as much of you as he's been

   pretending to."

41 And so on the following day, a woman's pique decides the issue.

42 "Frank and I want to get

       married."

43 "Well - when you can show me $2000 you have earned,

  I'll talk to you."

44 The next morning.

45 "I know how we can pick up two thousand apiece - are

  you interested?"

46 The overland stage from Saddle Creek.

47 "Look - Frank held up the stage and is coming here!"

48 That afternoon.

49 "Jose has had an accident - he asked me to stop by and

      send help."

50 "Here's a part of the money sheriff. I'm sorry but the

   bandit got away
      from me."

51 "I'll be all right until

   someone comes to
     relieve me."

52 Nobody having arrived to relieve Moya, she goes to the herder's cabin for food.

53 "Hands up - quick!"

54 "Not so fast my beauty!"

55 Months later the foreman of the Cross U ranch takes advantage of the owner's absence and presses un- welcome attentions on Moya who has been left in charge.

56 "Why do you turn from me -

 you know I love you?"

57 While through his proven fearlessness and popu- larity, Texas has been elected Sheriff.

58 The next day on the Cross U ranch.

59 "You're through here - is

  that plain enough?"

60 "Run him off the ranch - he's

   through as foreman."

61 With a heart filled with lust for revenge.

62 "I've got a scheme I want to

       talk over."

63 The Band of Rustlers.

64 "Rustlers have been stealing our cattle again - they are

   over on Pine Hill!"

65 "Come on you fellows - we'll

  make it hot for them."

66 "The sheriff is swearing in a lot of deputies - we'd better

         scatter."

67 "Here comes Moya - now's

     our chance!"

68 "Keep a good watch - we'll

  hold her for ransom!"

69 Picking up the trail.

70 "Have you seen Moya?"

71 "Reckon she's around - found her handkerchief

  down the road."

72 "Help - Help!"

73 "Moya's inside - they shot me

       and got away."
